Writing always comes before reading in a Montessori classroom.
Writing skills are learned through experiences with
sand paper letters by touch as well as by sight and sound.

Children build up their words phonetically using sand paper letters.
The reading progresses through three series: pink, blue and
green and grammar kits. Writing skills are learned through
experiences with sand paper letters by touch as well as
by sight and sound. A wide range of story and reference
picture books are always available at the reading corner.
